The purpose of the program is to assist in the provision of nutrition for the elderly population to remain independent in the community. The meals provided are in congregate and homebound settings. Services include congregate meals at the Center, home-delivered meals, nutrition education, and nutrition counseling.

Eligible participants must complete an enrollment form initially and then yearly each October. The forms are maintained in the Center and entered in AIMS by the Alabama Area on Aging.
Heardmont Senior Community Center is a Contractor with the Alabama Elderly Nutrition Program and adheres to all program guidelines, policies, and procedures for operation, administration and management of nutrition services as stated in the current Alabama Elderly Nutrition Program Manual provided by Alabama Department of Senior Services.
